The town and country planning act 1990 is an act of the united kingdom parliament regulating the development of land in england and walesit is a central part of english land law in that it concerns town and country planning in the united kingdomrepealed in parts by the planning and compensation act 1991 it is now also complemented by the planning and compulsory purchase act 2004. An act to make provision for repeals consequential amendments transitional and transitory matters and savings in connection with the consolidation of enactments in the town and country planning act 1990 the planning listed buildings and conservation areas act 1990 and the planning hazardous substances act 1990 including provisions to give effect to recommendations of the law commission.
